Memories

She was their favorite tech.
Spunky, and kind.
She loved the patients because the reminded her of herself.
They loved her because they wanted to be like her.
And she cheated for them.
Sneaking in candy for a few of them, turning OT into a cookie decorating session, in which even the girls with eating disorders took part.
One weekend she convinced the center to have an ice cream party.
More than once, she suggested that a patient be taken outside for a while.
Which was definitely breaking the rules.
Everyone had elopement risk the minute they were admitted, and it took a while to get off of it.
But the other techs listened to her, and obliged readily.
Most of them liked the patients too.
She was such a teen at heart.
Spiky blonde hair, fashionable-as-possible scrubs, the same slang terms as they used.
And she listened to their music.
She knew more about screamo punk bands then the musicians in the group did.
They adored her…
